We welcome boys from the age of two through to eleven and are one of the few schools in the area that do so. Our boys achieve high academic standards without feeling pressurised; we know that happy boys learn and so we provide a stimulating environment, coupled with pastoral care and work in partnership with parents. Our school combines the warmth and sense of community of a traditional village school with the resources, achievements and ‘buzz’ of a leading preparatory school.
Our small class sizes ensure that each boy’s education can be tailored to their needs. Parents comment that our teachers are able to motivate their boys to fulfill their potential and this underpins their numerous achievements. We have consistently been awarded ‘outstanding’ in all areas by the ISI School Inspection Reports, and they identify in particular that our teachers fully understand the boys and have an excellent relationship with them.
We offer a broad curriculum where music, art, drama, languages and sport are all taught by specialist teachers from Reception upwards. We offer numerous school trips and sporting tours, believing that boys learn best through experience and should gain an appreciation of the wider world. Our extensive extra-curriculum programme is designed to broaden the boys’ horizons and give them new opportunities.
We are often asked 'what makes Priory so special?' and the answer is simple: the boys themselves. They achieve high academic results – many win scholarships to their future schools – but they are also consistently recognised as being confident and polite, showing respect and care for others. We are extremely proud of them.
